St. Teresa High School’s Senior Class of 2020 achieved the highest ACT average in over a decade with an average composite of 24.2. This increase in students’ ACT scores positively impacts college admissions results and scholarship opportunities.
"We are extremely excited about this news,” shares Principal Larry Daly. “This obviously demonstrates the level of dedication that our students place on their academic performance. Additionally, it reflects and highlights our curriculum and the instruction our faculty provides each and every day.”
St. Teresa provides many resources for our students when it comes to preparing for these types of tests. Mrs. Maya Fombelle, the school’s Guidance Counselor administers a PSAT exam to all 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade students, as well as a full-length SAT exam. Individual test prep classes are available before school and students are also given outside test prep options. In addition to testing resources, Mrs. Fombelle also conducts college admissions programming and partners with the Illinois Student Assistance Commission to educate families on the complex college financial aid application process providing students individualized college counseling for their college application process.
