While the Diocese's annual Spring Enrichment program started thirty-five years ago as a training program for what we now call
"catechists" and "youth ministers", in recent years it has expanded its scope, size and numbers. While these "religion teachers" can take up to nearly 100 different courses towards their diocesan certification, Spring Enrichment now includes courses for pastoral care and liturgical ministers, parish leaders (including parish council and Called to Be Church comm. Members), and the general public. During the four days of this year's conference, May 12-15, parents and families
might be interested in "a Family in Change".(Monday 4pm). "Encountering Christ in the Life of our Family" (Tuesday 10 am) or "Communicating amid our Chaos" (Wednesday, 7:30pm); Young Adults might want to check our "Checking the Rope before you Tie the Knot" (Wednesday, 7:30pm); Liturgical Musicians might be interested in Tom Kendzia's two part "Singing the Liturgy (Monday & Wednesday, 7:30pm); and parish leaders might want to look into
several of the 14 different "leadership" courses on this year's schedule. For more information about the conference, held at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, check out the program's brochure on the diocesan website www.rcda.org or contact your parish's faith formation leader or the diocesan Office of Evangelization & Catechesis at 518-453-6630 or by email at spring.enrichment@rcda.org. | DOMINICAN RETREAT & CONFERENCE CENTER PROGRAM May 16-18, 2008, Woman to Woman Weekend, "Living a Life of Hope".

Hope is a spirituality and practice that can be learned. Life has more meaning and we age and heal better it we have hope. Hope is a way of saying "yes" to life in uncertain times. This retreat will include prayer, stories, music, journaling, and an abundance of hope in sharing with other women in the abiding presence of the Divine.
